Celestron Unveils New GPS-Enabled And Optical Products At CES 2011

CELESTRON INTRODUCES PERSONAL LOCATOR GPS TOOL AND 360 DEGREE PHOTOGRAPHY PANORAMA PRODUCT

TORRANCE, CA – (January 4, 2011) – Celestron, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of telescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, weather stations, microscopes and related accessories, today announced the introduction of reTrace™ Tracking GPS and SkyWatcher AllView™ at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Celestron's reTrace Lite (Suggested Retail Price: $49) and reTrace Deluxe (Suggested Retail Price: $99) is an easy-to-use GPS device helping travelers, campers, sports and outdoor enthusiasts, joggers and others not get lost. The reTrace GPS is a personal locator with a built-in digital compass that measures the distances to waypoints a user sets to find their way back to a target location. reTrace works anywhere in the world where a GPS signal can be received. The device also features an altimeter, barometer, temperature and real time display.

The SkyWatcher AllView (Suggested Retail Price: $449.95) is a computerized mount that simplifies taking panoramic photos and videos. It automates the process of capturing numerous photo or video frames that are necessary to stitch together a large panorama shot. The AllView can also be used to take astronomy photos by combining the pointing precision of a product designed for astronomy use with a camera shutter control feature to make creating panoramic photography an easier task. The quick release dovetail system makes the AllView compatible with any telescope or spotting scope equipped with Celestron SkyWatcher's 1.75" wide dovetail.

"The introduction of reTrace and AllView is further evidence of our dedication to providing consumers with exciting, useful and innovative products," said Joseph A. Lupica Jr, president and CEO of Celestron. "Our team of skilled engineers and industrial designers are constantly developing new products and technologies that redefine the way consumers can hike, star-gaze, travel, among many other activities and we look forward to continuing that approach for years to come."

reTrace and AllView, as well as Celestron's newest automatically aligning telescope, SkyProdigy™ and golf GPS device CoursePro™ will be displayed during the 2011 International CES, January 6-9, 2011 in Las Vegas at the Celestron booth #14736, located in the Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
