NexStar 102GT Accessories
Congratulations on your new NexStar 102GT telescope! You have the universe to explore and Celestron is here to help guide you on your journey. Your NexStar GT telescope has come complete with everything you need to get up and running, but there are some great accessories that will help make your experience even more exciting!
Looking to get more power out of your telescope, bringing the moon and the planets even closer? Look no further than the 93326 Omni 2x Barlow Lens. This lens can be used with your existing eyepieces to double the power of your telescope!
Want to check out the craters of the moon? The moon is very bright when you view through a telescope due to the telescope's light gathering power. The 94119-A Moon Filter will help to cut down the brightness and glare; kind of like sunglasses for your telescope (do NOT look at the sun though!).
Another great accessory is the 93722 Sky Maps. This interactive star chart allows you to turn the dial to your date and time, showing what objects are up in the night sky and where they are located. Inside you will find information and locations of thousands of exciting objects!
An important accessory for anyone getting into astronomy is the 93588 Night Vision red flashlight! Did you know that when your eyes are dark adapted, using a red light will help to illuminate your charts, accessory case, etc, without losing your eyes dark adaption?
Want to take pictures through your telescope? One option is the 93626 Universal Camera Adapter, which is great for smaller point and shoot cameras. This unique adapter clamps onto your telescope eyepiece and holds your camera rigidly in place to take photos of the moon, planets… or even land objects during the daytime!
Own a digital SLR type camera? All you need are two adapters: the 93625 Universal Camera Adapter and either the 93419 T-Ring for Canon EOS cameras, or the 93402 T-Ring for Nikon cameras. These two adapters will connect your DSLR camera right to the telescope.
The 102GT telescope comes with a battery pack, but you have other options for powering the telescope. If you are close to home and have an AC power outlet nearby, you can use the 18780 AC Adapter to plug right into the wall. If your car is nearby, or you have a battery pack with a car cigarette lighter port, get the 18769 Car Battery Adapter.
The best option is to get a portable power pack called the PowerTank. The 18774 PowerTank is a rechargeable battery pack that will run your telescope for hours on end. It can power many different types of electrical devices as well, making it a useful and versatile accessory! The PowerTank includes the 18769 adapter, so if you get the PowerTank it includes everything you need to power the telescope.
