I have had the SkyScout for 8 years, having bought it around when they came out. I have the speakers and use it at star parties. The kids really love it. It does what it says it does and I've had no problem while using it. I would have given this product 5 stars, BUT - to update the flash memory you MUST have a 32 bit computer for the software to work. You can load it on a 64 bit machine, but it won't open. Celestron's customer support says they know about it, but don't know when they're having going to update the software. I was told to find a friend with a 32 bit computer. always looked up and wondered what is it. Got the skyscout and have had a blast since. I'm an early riser but started noticing dusk stuff too. Really cool for the grand children and book reports or projects. Me too. Old man and been missing things all my life. getting a telescope right away. I couldn't believe I was the first to review this product. I have had my Sky Scout for over a year now and it amazes me every time I use it. The accuracy is stunning, and the detailed information it provided about the universe is more than you could hope to soak up in a lifetime. Personally my favorite feature is the “Target” feature, you look through the Sky Scout and focus it on anything in the sky, simply press Target and it will identify the object. I would also recommend getting the speaker accessory if you are going to be using it with a friend, that way you both could hear it. (Posted on 3/20/12)Rate This Product
