Purchased this binocular after I spent some time reading reviews and opinions.Rate This Product
Now I have used this for over 6 months.
This gives excellent views. On the downside, compromises are on the loose lens cover and neck strap. And yes, a bit heavy.

For the price I paid (Under $100) I rate these 5 stars. I have had mine for over 2 years and not had any issues with the zoom or fosnciug the binos. I must say they are heavy and unless laying on your back observing straight up they can become taxing on the arms. I purchased a tripod and mounted mine which seems to be the way to go for these are heavy. I have used them at several National Parks to observe the wildlife and natural attractions as well as astronomical observing of the moon and stars and the star packed areas of the milky way. For these uses they have been outstanding for the price, highly recommended. (Posted on 8/7/12)Rate This Product - WOW! Review by John

Fantastic binoculars! Great for astronomy. Galaxies, triple stars, star clusters etc. Mountain views, birds, and big horn sheep are incredible. My wife thinks my 15X70 is too heavy. I don't! Everyone who borrows 'em thanks me for the experience. (Posted on 7/19/12)Rate This Product - Amazing binocular Review by toj_so_bazuketo

Absolutely amazing binocular, both for day and night use. Beware, it is rather heavy to be held in hands, so consider tripod for night sky observation. Thin straps, not very comfortable. Eye relief excellent, FOV magnificent, cristal-clear image. Rubber cover provides extra grip. Price is good and I recommend it all who would like to have excellent binocular. I bought these binos primarily to get into astronomy more, but they are great for earth views too.Rate This Product
Pros:
--High quality optics for the price
-- Awesome terrestrial views of mountains and birds
-- Wonderful night sky viewing, making many more stars visible
--Awesome views of the moon
Cons:
--Included photo tripod adapter is junk -- too much wobbling. I bought an L-bracket and some bolts from the hardware store and was in business. I see Celestron has discontinued the bracket.
-- Planet views are marred by red ghostly margins on the edge of the object, which I have since found out is called chromatic aberration -- apparently a common problem with binoculars. (Posted on 5/9/12) - Impressive Review by Ahmed Oman

Very good binos, although they are my first ever!Rate This Product
a little too heavy but it's totally worth the arm pain. maybe in few months i will get a stand for it.
very clear views of mountains under the moon light, clear moon. In my light polluted city i can see about 12 stars with my naked eye on moony nights, with it i can see few thousands.
soon will use them in a starlit desert, cant wait =)
thanks Celestron for a great product. (Posted on 5/8/12) - superb Review by dave

For the price these binoculars are incredible good value for money. The low price means however there are compromises made that are already pointed out. The neck strap and the tripod adapter. Both of those can be replaced though. With a metal tripod adapter and a sturdy enough tripod you'll have a blast disovering the hidden gems in the night sky that are out of reach for the unaided eye. I've owned these 15x70 binoculars for about 6 months now,and have been extremely happy with them. Their light weight makes them comfortable to hold when scanning the skies; deep sky objects are vivid and clear; the stars of Orion's sword together with the nebula make a lovely sight. The field of view is just right for viewing the moon, and when it is seen rising from behind trees or foliage a spectacular 3D moon can be seen. My only criticism is the eyepiece cover not fitting securely; this is a minor niggle, and is immediately forgotten once these binoculars are being used. went to local telescope shop and they recommended to not buy these and tried to sell me a $250 15x70 pair of Orions and i instead ordered these from amazon, had to collimate them a bit with some instructions i found online, but work great now, took about 10 minutes (including time to go to academy to get little screwdriver)....i love these! i imagine a great starting point, going to get tripod tonight!Rate This Product
