This is my first scope, which was a big reason for choosing the SkyProdigy system.Rate This Product
The auto location find works great!! but 3 things that can make it hard for it to locate. 1) clouds (of course) Next, light pollution may affect the alinement (I live in Vegas.... I know, i know) 3rd chose of site for viewing, trees, mountains, building, etc. could block enough sky to mess up the auto locater but it took a fair amount plus add in the light pollution that was coming from the opposite direction.
Only real complete would be is that the tripod is a little flimsy.
Overall, everything else works as advertised. Optics are wonderful. The set up is very easy, from the trunk to viewing takes less then 10 mins (after 1st uses). I could not ask for a better first scope. I do recommend this scope and would buy it again. The size is prefect to take camping with you (other reason i choose this scope) Even if I size up in a few years I will never sell this telescope. (Posted on 7/5/12)
