Jupiter 23 June 2007 / Ultima-2000

This image was taken over 2 years ago using my 8". The seeing was almost perfect. The image shows that a high quality 8" SCT can perform.
To eliminate external interference in the NexImage, the earth to the USB was cut and soldered to a block of lead mounted inside the camera. The camera was then shielded by wrapping in conducting foil that was earthed through the telescope. Presto - no noise.

Mars 7 Nov 2009

My first mars image of this apparition, taken in better than average seeing on the morning of November 7. The temperature at the time was just under 20 F, but was worth the bout with frostbitten fingers!
