Answer

The dovetail bars on the NexStar SE line of telescopes are the same size as those used on our Advanced CG-5 GT German equatorial head and the SLT computerized drive bases. They are Vixen-type bars and will also fit mounts from many other manufacturers.

NOTE: As designed and normally used, the SE optical tube is mounted so the mount arm is to the left of the tube as seen from behind. The dovetail bar on the scope is thus on its left side and it is considered "left-handed." Though the tube's dovetail bar will fit many other mounts, the tube may not have this left-handed relationship to the mount. Your finderscope and focusing knob may not be optimally placed for observing convenience with other mounts.
