Why do I see a CRC NVdataBase.Bin error when updating?
Answer Files in the update have error-checking values to assure successful copying during installations.

The CRC NVdataBase.Bin msg probably means that there was an error in the database part of a CEL file in the update. The CEL file contains several cyclic redundancy check (CRC) values to make sure that there weren't any errors when the file was downloaded.

Go to the "C:Program FilesCelestronSkyScout" directory & delete all the files with *.cel names (for example, SkyScout_012348.cel). When you run the update program again, it should redownload the CEL file(s).

If the problem persists, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the update program via Windows Control panel. To uninstall: Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - Celestron SkyScout - Remove. Then insert the CD and reinstall the program.
