 Where is the serial number on my CPC?
Answer The serial number for most older CPCs is located underneath the secondary mirror cap.  The cap sits over the collimation screws and is more of a decorative feature rather than one that protects either the screws or the secondary mirror housing.

Simply use either a key or flat head screw driver to gently pry off this cap.  Be careful not to use too much force, as this is right next to the Schmidt corrector plate.  A gentle nudge should be enough to remove this cap.

Newer CPCs won't generally have a serial number under the cap. Instead, look on the optical tube assembly near the fork arm.

Also, some CPCs were produced that were not provided any serial numbers.
