NexStar SLT: My attached GPS will not link to satellites
Answer When you start the SkyAlign procedure, the display should be cycling through three messages. They are ENTER IF OK, UNDO TO EDIT and one of the following: if your GPS is turned ON, you will see GPS LINKING; if your GPS is turned OFF, you will see SAVED SITE.

If you see GPS LINKING, leave the scope alone and do not press any buttons.  If you press UNDO or ENTER at any time, you will bypass the GPS and the scope will link with the information that is currently stored in the system and will not work correctly.

The scope will need to search for three satellites to get a position fix, but only requires one to determine the time.  Look at the time displayed under the scrolling messages.  If you see the time update, the GPS is working, but has not located the three required satellites.  Check your area for large obstructions and try to keep away from large metallic items that would affect the local magnetic field, such as cars, power lines, or electronic dog fences.  The first time you do this, it can take around one hour, but each subsequent alignment should link within a couple of minutes.
