How do I manually move my NexStar GT scope?
Answer Your NexStar telescope is designed to be motor-driven under control of its GOTO firmware. The hand control functions and arrow keys allow it to point anywhere in the sky.  The only limits are those imposed by the length of the tube, which may cause it to hit the mount. The firmware has settings under SLEW LIMITS to help prevent this from happening.

Manual motions are only possible in altitude (up-down). You can easily position the scope for transport or safety by pointing the tube downwards.

It cannot be manually moved in azimuth (left-right) without possible damage to the drive mechanism.
