What’s the best way to use my CPC’s clutches?
Answer The CPC has clutches on both the azimuth and altitudes axes. The great advantage is that the scope can be freely moved by hand.

When driven, they must be tightened snugly but not overtightened for the CPC’s motors to work properly and without undue strain. Of course, any manual movement of the scope after alignment by loosening the clutches ruins your alignment.

When transporting your CPC, loosen the clutches so as not to strain or damage the worm gear drive mechanisms.

When lifting the CPC, make sure they are tight enough so the scope won’t swing unpredictably and cause an accident or injury to the scope, yourself or someone helping you move the scope.
