 The declination motion of my CGE mount is getting progressively slower - what’s wrong?
Answer It could be the cable or it could be the encoder for the DEC motor. 

Switch the RA and DEC cables to see if this helps. Examine the DEC cable for kinks. Straighten it and let it hang. Replace the cable if need be. 

If it is not a cable problem, the encoders are probably the problem. Since the encoders aren’t a separate part, replacement of the entire motor assembly is necessary.
