I upgraded-reflashed my Advanced GT hand control and now I’m not getting the control functions for my mount, but for another mount. What happened? How can this be fixed?
Answer You probably flashed it with the wrong version of firmware, one for another mount. When you do this, you may get the telescope model displayed correctly when your scope is powered up, but a completely different menu. Or you may get “No Response” or another model of scope displayed.

You can fix this by simply reflashing the hand control for the correct version of the firmware using the HCupdate software.

The different firmware versions versus telescope models are described on the NexStar Resource Site firmware page. Here are the latest version numbers for each mount (April 2009). Be sure to choose the right one in HCupdate when upgrading-reflashing.

For the CGE, Advanced GT, CGEM and CGE Pro

NXS 4.13  (latest)

(latest - will not be further updated)
