The PowerSeeker 127EQ has a 1000mm focal length. Why is its tube only 508mm long? Is this a mistake?
Answer No. The reason the tube on this scope is so short is because its optical design incorporates a Barlow lens built into the focuser. This lens extends the focal length of the primary mirror and therefore the telescope without adding physical length.

The result is a compact tube Newtonian reflector with a long focal length.
