Does my CN16 GPS have a battery?
Answer Older CN16s made when Celestron used the north and level alignment technology (before 2005) have a battery. They also have a bearing switch which can be heard rattling as you handle the GPS. Their long-life rechargeable lithium batteries are soldered to a board inside the unit.

Newer CN16s don’t have a battery and are powered off the mount.
