Answer It can be fixed very easily.

Remove the hand control holder from the tripod leg.

Get some hot water in a large cup or mug. A temperature hot enough to steep a tea bag is usually sufficient yet not hot enough to warp or melt the plastic. Take the hand control holder and dunk the side that attaches to tripod leg into the hot water. Let it soak for approximately a minute.

Remove the hand control holder from the hot water. With one hand supporting the hand control side of the holder, use the thumb and forefinger of your other hand to gently bend the two prongs that go around the tripod leg towards each other. Keep pressure on the prongs for approximately 30 seconds to one minute. Dry the hand control holder.

Now it should fit snugly over the tripod leg on your LCM mount.
