 The SLT hand control has EQ-NORTH and EQ-SOUTH under mode. But there is no wedge for the SLT – how can I use the mount equatorially?

You need to remove the mount from its Celestron tripod.

The mount base has a 1/4x20 threaded hole that can be used with aftermarket tripods that can be aligned equatorially. Just attach it to the tripod’s 1/4x20 screw.

A heavy-duty photo tripod with a pan head that has a degree scale can be used as well. (It must be sturdy enough to hold the mount arm and attached scope.) As one way to polar align this combination, align the direction of the pan handle to the north and then tilt it back to an angle equal to 90 minus your latitude.
