The CPC Deluxe HD mount is one of the bigger mounts in the Celestron product line. It takes a recommended 12VDC input of 2.5 amps to successfully run the mount under normal conditions (well balanced for visual work).

We recommend the Celestron AC adapter #18778 (2.5 amps max output) for the CPC Deluxe.

If you are using the scope for astro-imaging or have a heavier load with some inbalance, the scope will need more amperage. In those cases, the recommended Celestron AC adapter is the #18780 (5 amps max output) for the CPC Deluxe.

An alternative is a 12VDC battery source, such as the PowerTank 17 #18777.

If you are using a 12VDC battery, be sure to use the car battery adapter that came with your mount. Thinner-wired car battery adapters may cause problems with mount performance and even melt or catch fire if used with the CPC Deluxe.
