 Why does my Celestron microscope have a warning about chemicals causing cancer?

“This product contains a chemical(s) known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.”

This statement relates to a California Proposition 65 requirement where products sold in California must display a warning even if the product has not been evaluated for the chemicals listed by Prop 65.

 

The warning is a requirement in order to be compliant with California law whether the product has been tested or not. The list of chemicals is quite extensive and our product has not been evaluated to determine if any of these chemicals are present.
