You may be attempting to use CoursePro with the Map Manager software and then see this message:
In order to fix this problem, ensure sure your CoursePro is turned on and plugged into your PC. Next, try plugging it into other USB ports on your computer.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, go to your computer’s Device Manager. (Allow Windows permission by pressing Continue when it comes up.) Inside Device Manager is the list of Ports (COM and LPT) and under that you will see the entry "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port." Double-click on this entry:
A window will open and will show the properties of this COM port. Click on the Driver tab, then click on the option Update Drivers.
Another window will open; you should choose "Search automatically for updated driver software." Allow up to several minutes for your computer to perform the update. When finished, "Windows has successfully update your driver software" will display:
Now close all Device Manager windows. Map Manager should now show "Device connected“ and the button at the lower right of its window will show a green connected icon.
