In order to mount the sticker, place the equatorial head in the equatorial (EQ) north position. This is the position (approximately) depicted on the front of the CGEM series manual. In this position, the polar axis is pointing towards the north celestial pole; the counterweight is in its lowest position with the dovetail clamp saddle parallel to and above the polar axis. The dovetail clamp knobs will be to your left when you are standing at the south (low) end of the polar axis. (The manual cover artwork has the knobs on the other side - hence only approximately showing the EQ north position for the mount.)
Once oriented this way, the polar axis should have the one visible index mark in line with two empty screw holes where the polar axis meets the Dec axis. Place the index sticker (with the arrow pointing towards the other index mark) on the polar axis in line with the two screw holes and the existing index mark.
