1.       New software

Q:  What is better about the new software?

A.      Previously, our customers would have to access the web page to search and download new course maps. With the new Course Map Manager Software, you only need to download the software once, and then you can search and add courses to your device through the program--no need to access the web page. Also, the new software comes with new payment options. ALL customers get 1 year free access to ALL 22,000+ course maps in our database. After 1 year, to have access for life is now only a one-time payment of $14.99

 

Q:  I am already a Celestron CoursePro customer. Do I have to download the new software?

A:  If you are happy with the courses on your device, NO, you do not have to download the new software. You can continue to use as you have before. But, if you want access to ALL 22,000+ courses for 1 year and want to be able to update the course map database, YES, you will need to download the new software.

 

2.       Uninstall software

        Q:  How do I un-install my old versions of the CoursePro Map Manager software, before installing the new software?

                          A:  All computers will vary slightly, but here are the basic steps:

1.       Open your computer's Control Panel

2.       Under Programs, select “Uninstall a program”

3.       In the window that appears, scroll until you find the CoursePro software listing

4.       Highlight (right click) the file and select "Uninstall"

5.       Follow the onscreen prompts until you see that the software has been uninstalled

6.       Now return to the CoursePro web page and select  the “Download Course Map Manager Software” button

 

3.       Updating courses

Q:  How do I update the course database on the new software?

      A:  Just click the button on the software interface window and verify you want to do this. NOTE: Updating the software will take a minimum of 10 minutes (depending on your internet speed), so plan accordingly. Once the update begins, it cannot be stopped until completed.

 

4.       Device courses lost

Q:  Will I lose the course maps on my device when I update to the new software?

      A:  YES.  When you update to the new software, the courses on your device will be lost. The new software will allow you to easily search and reinstall them on your device.

 

5.       Downloading software

Q:  How do I know I am downloading the software correctly?

A:   All computers will vary slightly, but here are the basic steps: 

1.       Click on the “Download  Course Map Manager Software” button on the CoursePro page

2.       Follow the onscreen prompts until the install is completed (add accompanying images)

 

6.       Expiration

Q:   With the new software, what happens after the first year of free access?

A:   You will be notified 2 weeks before your FREE access time will expire.  A link will appear, giving you the choice of adding your five free courses, or paying for lifetime access.

 

8.       Five free courses

Q:  When do I choose my five free courses?

A:  You will be notified 2 weeks before your FREE access time will expire. At this time, you can choose your five free courses.

 

9.       Yards/meters

Q:  When I reboot my CoursePro, I notice that the unit display is meters and not yards. What do I do?

A:  It has been brought to our attention that some of the CoursePros will do this. Upon boot up, on the main screen of the device, scroll to “Settings”  and select this by pressing the center round button.  Scroll down to “Yard/Meter” and then toggle between yard and meter by pressing the left and right arrow buttons.
