Answer For the Deluxe Compact Weather Station #47005, the way to do this is to use channel 3 with the transmitter.

Press the TX (transmit) button on the back of the transmitter and the CH (channel) button on the receiver until the unit beeps indicating successul linking-synchronizing between the units.

Because weather station transmitters are low-powered devices, their signals can be easily blocked. The main unit might not receive data if deep in a building, if there is metal between it and the transmitter, etc.
