I need to remove my CPC’s optical tube from the fork. How is this done?
Answer  In outline, here’s how to remove the OTA from the CPC fork.

First, identify the fork arm without the clutch.

Next, remove the four screws on the inside of this arm – they hold the cover on.

Remove the handle screws (2 of them).

The cover should now come off from the arm. Four screws at the base will be exposed.

Be sure the OTA is supported.

Loosen the four screws to allow the arm to be either gently moved outwards or removed completely.

NOTE: the GPS antenna is connected on this side. Disconnect it by gently pulling the connector on the valance (electronic board) that is located on the mount arm at the level of the handle.

Next, remove the two Allen screws on the bracket against the tube. If the tube does not come free, either gently pry or tap to free it.

The other side’s Allen screws can now be loosened and the OTA freed from the remaining arm.

NOTE: this will void your Celestron warranty.
