Do I need to set the TrekGuide’s maximum altitude? What does it mean?
Answer Maximum altitude is the measurement of the highest altitude place you have visited with the TrekGuide. The unit will keep this reading until the batteries are removed.

If you don’t care about your maximum altitude, you don’t need to set it. However it can be set (or reset to zero) as detailed in the TrekGuide manual.
