The CGE Pro mount is the biggest current mount in the Celestron product line. As such, it has power requirements beyond other recent Celestron mounts.

It takes a 12VDC input of at least 3.5 amps to successfully run the mount under normal conditions.

We recommend the Celestron AC adapter #18780 (5 amps max output) for the CGE Pro.

An alternative is a 12VDC battery source, such as the PowerTank 17 #18777.

If you are using a 12VDC battery, be sure to use the car battery adapter that came with your mount. Thinner-wired car battery adapters may cause problems with mount performance and even melt or catch fire if used with the CGE Pro.
