The Regal 80 is really a nice scope. I compared it side by side to a Kowa 77mm and found no perceptable difference. I viewed the craters on the moon for one comparison, and found no difference. My second test was resolving bullet holes at long distances. Early in the morning before the mirage came up I was able to resolve .30 calibre holes out beyond 500 yards. Both scopes performed identically. As soon as the mirage came up both scopes failed the test. My only complaint is that this scope is enormous and heavy. I wish it was somewhat shorter because it becomes a big sail in the 20+mph winds on our South Texas rifle range. The scope is worth the money and more, just be advised that it is a big scope and it is precarious on a scope stand in the wind. (Posted on 5/24/12)Rate This Product
