Got this as a Christmas gift! Oh what fun! Fairly easy to put together if one is mechanically inclined and you read the entire manual. This is NOT the time to take the approach that many take - "if all else fails, read the instructions" especially if this is truly your first telescope on an EQ mount. Balancing and Finderscope alignment were all new concepts for me, so reading the manual was essential. If you don't want to read instructions, get binoculars, otherwise this is a FANTASTIC first telescope and my wife thinks I'm a kid again.. I AM and I'm loving it! Even saw the 4 moons of Jupiter the other night. A first for me!
