I haven't had my scope all that long but I've been able to see some amazing deep sky objects. My favorites so far are M11, the dumbell nebula, the blue snowball nebula, and the ring nebula. I don't have a CCD yet but even without a photo these objects still show color. I was completely blown away. Viewing the Andromada galaxy was of little excitement because no details can be seen without imagining. CCD please!! It takes some time to set up and get aligned so its not something you drag out for a quick view. Also I found that if it's not perfectly polar aligned then youre dead in the water trying to find the object you want to see. When I had it totally leveled and aligned properly it went from object to object with no centering or adjustment needed. I couldn't believe how much more fun it was then scanning around trying to find the desired object. This scope has a ton of features I haven't begun to learn yet and the learning curve is kinda steep but absolutely worth it after some practice nights. Now I just wish owned a CCD and lived in a really dark desert! (Posted on 9/26/12)
