I'd wanted a dissecting scope for decades, mainly to look at plant parts and insects, and to inspect small mechanical parts as well. When I saw this scope, and its price, I grabbed it. Have no complaints at all. The image looks as good as ones from the American Optical scopes I used in college, and the scope more than meets my needs. The scope doesn't zoom, but the two fixed powers provided are more than adequate for everything I do with it.. A well-built piece of equipment.
