- I work at a big research university in a neuroanatomy lab doing histology work. When my mother asked me for advice on buying a microscope for her to use in homeschooling my niece, I looked up information about a lot of different scopes. For the price, the Celestron had (by far) the best features. I've personally used this scope on numerous occasions since my mom purchased it, and I have to say I am very impressed. Excellent value, and coming from someone who uses microscopes a LOT in a professional research environment, I can say this scope is nothing to scoff at. I encourage any science enthusiast, teacher, or student to strongly consider paying the money for a scope that is sturdy, has excellent optics, and will last you for life. (Posted on 3/15/12)
