Granite ED 10x42 Binocular
- Product Review (submitted on July 17, 2012):
- As a 10X42 Granite owner and 30 year birder, I’m favorably impressed. Image is bright, clear, and colors are sharp. Granite excels in low light and seems to have a pretty good depth of field. If I search for it, there is a barely noticeable loss of sharpness at the edge of the image, but at this price point I just enjoy the excellent views. Granite is fairly compact for a 10X binocular, fairly lightweight and comfortable in the hand. I find it easy to lock onto a bird with these binoculars. Build seems solid and focus is smooth and quick – no sloppiness for me. Nice features include interior objective lens caps that flip down easy and detach easily, possibly too easy to rely on them to stay put while in the field, but great for keeping dirt out while on daily duty at the kitchen table. Granite also comes with a lightweight shoulder harness. Looks a bit cheesy, but it has been working well for me. Recommended for performance AND value – even familiar birds look extra sharp.
