FirstScope Telescope

Product Review (submitted on October 7, 2012):
For the price this scope just cannot be beat. Celestron has really done it this time. Although the optics seem to be spotty (I guess I was lucky and got a pretty good sample) as the mirror is a spherical one, I can push mine to about 50x before the image starts to degrade. That is enough for good views of Saturn's rings (even if they are a little bit small), Jupiter's two equatorial belts and 4 wandering moons, the cratered surface of the moon. However this scope's forte is in its low powered views. Bring it to a dark sky site and just pan the milky way with this scope. And the advantage of this scope over giant binoculars is that you can use broadband and narrowband filters, change magnifications, and it is way more comfortable to look through than craning under binoculars. Where was a scope like that when I was growing up....
