Celestron’s proprietary new StarSense Technology analyses the images of the sky acquired by the telescope’s on-board digital camera, matching them like “finger prints” against the internal database of all known objects. Only 3 such images are needed for the system to fully align itself with the sky and be ready to automatically point the telescope to any star, planet or galaxy of your choosing. The entire process takes under 3 minutes and requires absolutely no user involvement.
SkyProdigy Telescopes are equipped with Celestron’s StarSense Computerized Hand Controls. The HandControl allows you to automatically locate and point your SkyProdigy to over 4,000 celestial objects contained in its database. Additionally, the SkyProdigy includes a “Sky Tour” feature which automatically moves the telescope to the best astronomical objects currently visible at that time. The HandControl also has a readout that provides you interesting facts and scientific data about the object you are viewing. Keep your SkyProdigy up to date by downloading the latest firmware updates for your HandControl via the Internet.
