How do I level my telescope mount?

For the best use of your telescope, level your tripod before observations begin. This is especially important for the equatorial (EQ) models because it affects polar-aligning the scopes.

Here are a few tips:

1. Set up on a relatively flat and level site.

2. Check the inclination of the tripod by using a level on a flat surface on the tripod leg tops. The PowerSeeker mounts do not have a built-in level, but you can purchase an inexpensive bubble level at most hardware stores to help with this.

3. Adjust the length of the tripod legs by unlocking and shortening or lengthening them as needed until the bubble is centered in the level.
