Celestron Announces New International Business Development Department to Spearhead International Growth
September 2, 2014
Torrance, CA (September 1, 2014) – In response to an ever-changing international marketplace, Celestron is pleased to announce exciting changes within the International Sales Department. Effective September 1, the department has been reconfigured and renamed the International Business Development Department. This important division of Celestron will place more emphasis on partnering with distributors to collaborate and share information.
By building multi-tier relationships between Celestron and its distributors, the new International Business Development Department will be a powerful force to help distributors grow their businesses. This fresh approach allows both parties to work together to understand and analyze the challenges of each individual market and find strategies for success. After months of testing, Celestron is confident this new department will spearhead dramatic international growth.
As part of Celestron’s new international strategy, longtime employee Anne Barton will assume the role of International Business Development Manager. In January 2014, Barton took the first step on this exciting journey by relocating from the company’s California headquarters to a new office in Basingstoke, England. With her new title and location closer to distributors, Barton will continue to provide excellent service to her very loyal portfolio of key international accounts.
Celestron is also pleased to announce that Dave Murray, who joined Celestron in September 2013, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Business Development. His new role is focused on growing market awareness of the Celestron brand throughout Celestron’s international partners’ territories.
“It is a great honor to be tasked with this new responsibility,” Murray commented. “I look forward to many new challenges and opportunities. I am confident that by working more closely with Celestron distributors, we can strengthen these partnerships, making both Celestron and our distributors stronger in the coming years.”
“Over the past twelve months, Celestron has intensified its focus on international business. Through Dave and Anne’s efforts, we have achieved our initial goals and are now prepared to move into the next phase of our international strategic plan,” said Celestron CEO Dave Anderson. “Moving to the next level requires leadership, vision, and renewed focus. Dave Murray has been instrumental in reshaping our international effort, and I know he will continue to lead Celestron to new heights internationally.”
Both Anne and Dave will represent Celestron and meet with distributors at Photokina in Cologne, Germany, September 16-21.
