Dave Murray joins Celestron’s International Sales Team as Business Development Manager

A longtime business partner, Dave brings three decades of optics selling expertise to the world’s number-one telescope manufacturer.

Torrance, CA (August 21, 2013) – Celestron, the world’s number-one telescope designer and manufacturer, announced today that Dave Murray has joined its international sales team.

Throughout his career, Dave has amassed over 30 years of sales and product development experience, the majority of them spent focused on the photo and optics markets. He comes to Celestron from consumer electronics leader Hama (UK) Ltd, where he spent 23 years as its Product and Purchasing Manager.

Dave’s position at Celestron will be International Business Development Manager, a position created with him in mind.

“We are incredibly lucky to have Dave Murray become a part of Celestron’s stellar sales team,” remarked Dave Anderson, CEO of Celestron. “After years of working together through our relationship with Hama UK, we are excited to bring his regional expertise and knowledge to our sales team.”

“By bringing Dave onboard, Celestron is officially committing itself to continually build and grow our presence in the European market,” added Victor Aniceto, Celestron’s Vice President of International Sales.

Nick Grey, Hama UK’s Manager Director, said, “Dave has significantly contributed to the ever-growing success of Hama over the years, and I know that his move to Celestron will only boost our already-reputable relationship further. Speaking on behalf of everyone here at Hama UK, I wish Dave success in his new role at Celestron. Whilst we know that his extensive experience and knowledge will be irreplaceable, he has done an incredible job in passing on his invaluable wisdom to the next Product Management generation here at Hama. Once again, thank you for everything you have done, and good luck in your new position.”

Dave Murray’s first day at Celestron will be September 1. To better serve Celestron’s dealers and distributors in the United Kingdom and Europe, Dave will be based in the region, working out of Celestron offices located outside of London.
