I am getting a widows error message when trying to install Nexremote on my system what can I do?

When your try to install NexRemote you may see the following error message:

NexRemote Windows 8 error

What this means is that you must install the program using Window's compatibility feature.

1. Download the latest version of NexRemote from the Celestron website:

2. Save the file to the desktop. Right-click on it and choose “Extract all files” and save the NexRemoteInstall_1_7_22.exe either on the desktop or in a new folder.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Select desktop as a destination, then press "OK."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Press Extract, Location will already be filled in with the desk-top.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Right click on the NexRemote icon found on your desktop and choose troubleshooting capability.

 

6. Select the troubleshoot program. On the second window, select the first option "the program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run now," then hit next.

7. Select Windows 7, then hit "Next."
8. Now we are going to test the program. Click test the program then hit "Next."

9. Click "Next" again on the NexRemote software.
10. Press "Yes, save these settings for this program."

11. Restart/reboot your computer. Once it loads, you can double click the NexRemote icon on your desktop, and it should be good to go.
