Why can't I retrieve a list of observable comets in TheSky?

There is a bug in TheSky that shuts down the program when you select Data > Comets and Minor Planets > Comets > Observable. You will see a message "Executable file for TheSky.encountered a problem and needs to close."

 

As a workaround, download the comet data manually from the Center for Astrophysics website and then import the specific comet that you want from the file.
