Why is my NexStar SLT optical tube slipping in altitude?

If your altitude clutch is slipping and causing the optical tube to droop, the altitude nut will need to be tightened. Remove the optical tube and unscrew the tube clamp tightening knob. Slightly tighten the altitude nut (located under the tube clamp tightening knob). This will create more friction and the optical tube should no longer slip. Re-screw the tube clamp tightening knob.
