Description
Popular Science by Celestron Outland X monocular is a great grab-and-go scope for any outdoor activity. With the smartphone adapter, you can capture anything you see in the binoculars and share the images and video with friends and family instantly. Its size makes it perfect to take along for hiking, sightseeing, sporting events, and more!
Coatings and Prisms
The Popular Science by Celestron Outland X monocular features multi-coated optics. What’s more, the prisms inside the monocular are made of high quality BaK-4 glass so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. Taken together, the multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for remarkably bright, highly detailed images.
The Body
A durable housing protects your Outland X monocular from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through the Outland X monocular is comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. What’s more, the monocular is fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses. Outland X can stand up to even the toughest outdoor conditions.
Perfect for a Variety of Uses
This special edition Outland X monocular features a close focus of just 8.2 feet, making it perfect for wildlife observers, travel/camping life, or viewing nearby subjects. For distance viewing, the model offers a wide field of view so you can easily follow subjects as they move with less need to move the monocular.
Digiscoping is Easy with the Celestron Smartphone Adapter and Bluetooth Remote
Share your greatest discoveries with friends and family by pairing the Outland X binocular with the included smartphone adapter. This accessory connects any smartphone to one of Outland X’s eyepieces (or any other eyepiece with an outside diameter of 45mm or smaller, such as a spotting scope or telescope eyepiece).
The eyepiece’s magnification bumps up the image scale, so you can capture stunning images of wildlife, distant objects, and even the Moon at night! This light, rigid smartphone adapter installs in seconds by clamping over the top of the eyepiece. Tighten the knobs to securely lock your phone in place. (Note: Some large and/or excessively bulky phone cases, including folio style cases, may need to be removed for the phone to fit in the adapter.)
Celestron has also provided a Bluetooth shutter release that allows you to trigger the camera’s shutter on any Android or iOS smartphone remotely, without disturbing the placement of the phone or monocular.
Ways to Observe
The Popular Science by Celestron Outland X monocular is tripod-adaptable, so you can mount it on any standard photographic monopod or tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece).
