Coatings and Prisms

At the heart of Outland X, you’ll find high quality, multi-coated optics. A binocular can be considered “multi-coated” when at least one of the major optical elements has multiple coatings of anti-reflective compounds on at least one surface. These special multi-coatings allow more light to pass through to the eye.

The prism inside Outland X 10x42mm is made of BaK-4 glass with phase coatings, which also aid in light transmission and boost image quality. Taken together, the multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms dramatically increase light transmission, contrast, and resolution for sharper, more detailed images.

The Body

Outland X features a polycarbonate housing that is lightweight and durable. Weight is kept to a minimum so the binocular can be used and carried for extended periods without fatigue. Even though the housing is lightweight, it is extremely durable and can stand up to rough use in the field. The twist-up eyecups provide comfortable viewing for both eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers. The large focus knobs make for easy and precise focusing.

Outland X is fully waterproof for worry-free use in all weather conditions and peace of mind when unexpected weather rolls in. The housing is also filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of the lenses when moving between extreme temperatures or when using the binocular in damp conditions. 

Perfect for a Variety of Uses

Outland X 10x42mm features a close focus of just 14.8 ft. (4.5m), making it a great choice for viewing nearby subjects. For long distance viewing, the 10x42mm model offers high magnification.

Ways to Observe

Carry your Outland X on the comfortable included strap. It’s also tripod-adaptable, so you can mount it on any standard photographic tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). The tripod adapter is sold separately. The binocular also includes a protective padded nylon case for storage and transport.
