Description
Popular Science by Celestron Outland X binocular is the ideal choice for everyone from bird watchers and naturalists to sports fans and travelers. With the smartphone adapter, you can capture anything you see in the binoculars and share the images and video with friends and family instantly. Its size makes it perfect to take along for hiking, sightseeing, sporting events, and more!
Coatings and Prisms
The Popular Science by Celestron Outland X binocular features multi-coated optics. What’s more, the prisms inside the binocular are made of high quality BaK-4 glass so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. Taken together, the multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The popular roof prism creates a straight line between the eyepiece and objective lenses of the optic for the result of a sleek and trim exterior shape.
The Body
A durable housing protects your Outland X binocular from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through Outland X is comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. Twist through multiple click stops to find the position that works best for you. What’s more, the binocular is fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses. Outland X can stand up to even the toughest outdoor conditions.
Digiscoping is Easy with the Celestron Smartphone Adapter and Bluetooth Remote
Share your greatest discoveries with friends and family by pairing the Outland X binocular with the included smartphone adapter. This accessory connects any smartphone to one of Outland X’s eyepieces (or any other eyepiece with an outside diameter of 45mm or smaller, such as a spotting scope or telescope eyepiece).
The eyepiece’s magnification bumps up the image scale, so you can capture stunning images of wildlife, distant objects, and even the Moon at night! This light, rigid smartphone adapter installs in seconds by clamping over the top of the eyepiece. Tighten the knobs to securely lock your phone in place. (Note: Some large and/or excessively bulky phone cases, including folio style cases, may need to be removed for the phone to fit in the adapter.)
Celestron has also provided a Bluetooth shutter release that allows you to trigger the camera’s shutter on any Android or iOS smartphone remotely, without disturbing the placement of the phone or binocular.
Ways to Observe
The Popular Science by Celestron Outland X binocular is tripod-adaptable, so you can use a binocular tripod adapter (not included) to mount it on any standard photographic monopod or tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece).
